To begin can be scary

Have you started your New Years Resolution?

Perhaps you were up late last night preparing frozen meals, organizing shelves, taking notes for the first day in 2019 or maybe you laid around and spent quality time laughing with your family.

Either way, we all have goals when we begin something new.


The trends and the repetitive repeats of the year before.

Aren’t you sick of setting the same goals every year? Either not reaching them, half reaching them or perhaps, you did actually achieve them.

Good for you!

For those of you, like myself, that start and stop frequently in life by overfilling your “perfection plate.

Trust when I say, “You are not on that wagon alone.”

However, this year I was hoping to encourage others like myself. Too hop off that old wagon and hurdle onto the new one that is actually moving!


Did you know that this is the very last teen of our century? The last teen in your lifetime.

It may not seem like some huge ordeal and perhaps it really is not.

However, sometimes believing something is your last, somehow makes you want to reach for it a little bit more.

Kind of like the theory of, you want what you can’t have.

But, it is not here nor there.

What it is about is, you. This year, it is about kicking your own ass.

If that is physically for you, get on it!

If that is mentally for you, seek it!

If that is emotionally for you, dig for it!

You truly have the power inside of you even when you feel like you don’t.

You are human and it is absolutely normal and natural to simply just feel like you can’t.

But, what I am here to tell you is, you can!

I used to think, that putting a ton of shit on my plate was the best way to get all the things done.

I used to think, that by shooting for 10 things I was stronger or smarter somehow.

I used to…

But this year, this year we can change all we have ever known and done.

Because this year, there is belief like never before. There is passion and there is fire inside of you!

Can you feel it?!

Stop going against what you know your meant to do or be! Don’t worry about what everyone or even that one person will think.

The only persons opinion that matters about you, is yours!

You can never truly be your genuine self if all you do is hide behind a shadow of someone you are not.


Here are some personal tips on how to start and move towards your wanted direction.

  1. Figure out what you want.

I know this is tough. I’m aware it’s the hardest part. But dig deep, soul search and figure out what is burning inside of you. The thing you can not live without. You do not need to be great at this thing. You just have to have a big enough passion and hunger to go after it.

2. How will you get it? Blue print the plan.

No, you do not need to be an architect to blue print your process. You simply need a pencil, some paper and a vision. What is the first step to getting your # 1? I’m not talking about taking the first step here. Simply just writing or drawing it out first. There is SERIOUS magic in writing things down.

Is it changing your attitude?

Is it changing your friends?

Is it adding more nutrition?

Is it implementing more self talk?

How will you get what you want? Figure this out and the next step comes easier.

3. Take the first step

The scariest part. At least for me personally.

Actually, following through with all the things that were just written down is freaky all by itself.

Probably asking yourself, “Am I seriously going to do this?” “Is this actually going to even work?”

Been there and guess what?

You will never know unless you TRY!

So stop allowing FEAR and DOUBT to stop you from everything you DESERVE!

Which takes me to my last tip.

4. Get good at filtering your thoughts

Before you speak, think. Because our reality becomes what we create.

If we are constantly feeding ourselves doubt through thoughts.

Well my friends, I will just tell you now that you will spin your plates for a long time by doing so.

You disservice yourself and all those around you by speaking poorly. By thinking poorly.

We are what we feel and we become what we surround ourself with physically and mentally.

I know this might seem a bit deep and weird to wrap up my last tip this way.

But, it’s truth and if you don’t start taking the filter process more seriously. You will self destruct before you even flip the switch to try.

Believe in yourself. Believe in the power of you!

Always remember that being intentional with everything you do can be life altering.

  • Donate as much as possible
  • Attend church regularly
  • Makeup application & Beauty world
  • YouTube channel growth
  • Take walks outside and alone again. This has been a struggle since my anxiety took over.
  • Better nutrition and self care for the inside of my body.
  • Read more and take more notes

NUMBER ONE IS THE GOAL FOR 2019!

The rest are things I plan on working on and getting better at with application and time.

You and everyone else…

Have you ever done something in your life when you got no support from people actually present around you?

Perhaps some would pat you on the back or tell you good job, but that is the open and close to the action or compliment if that is how it’s done nowadays?

Is that enough for you?

Should you keep that energy around?

These are valid and necessary questions to ask yourself sometimes.

Especially when you are trying to do something that is totally against the grain. Something that you are building from scratch. It is not just a clock in and clock out kinda lifestyle.

Most times you end up with people that understand nothing about what your doing or why you are doing it. Good thing you are not doing it for them. Because boy oh boy would that pressure be tough or what? Having to please everybody else, including you!

Worrying about how you do things or move your life around to fit people in.

People that are important but currently not more important than your immediate family and goals.

If this can’t be respected, encouraged or understood from the opposing party.

You my friend are in for a bit of a tougher road. Best way too put it.

Sometimes there comes a day when people want to do something for themselves and unfortunately there is no room for extra.

It’s strictly family and work until a goal is met and a break can be given.

For the first time your doing something for yourself.

Go you!

Has this happened to you or happening?

Because I completely know how you feel.

In fact we could not be on more of the same wave link as we are with this.

You see, there are time frames on things in life.

Even life itself.

There are time frames in our teenage years, the mistakes we make and learn from.

Then the decade of our twenties which we end up enduring a lot of experience.

Then when you finish up with the end of your twenties you branch into your thirties.

Here is when you are thinking a lot more about the deeper things in life.

Not saying that this is everyone. But, you have to admit this explanation is pretty average.

Now thinking deeper could be encouraged from settling down for a long period of time with your spouse and creating a family.

Seeing the importance of so much we take for granted.

Understanding how quickly time goes by and the value we throw away by not utilizing the time more wisely.

You and everyone else, is not a qualified recipe.

You are your own ingredients and everyone else is their own formula.

It important to remember when you branch out and start following the path you want and life you deserve. That you simply go after it.

It’s vital to not allow anyone to devalue that or misunderstand the importance of it too you.

Do not rearrange your goals and priorities. This is the first mistake that so many make when they think they can do it all.

Don’t get me wrong, there are probably a lot of you reading this that manage all the things that life throws at you.

Let me ask you something, “How’s that going?”

It’s okay to say no. It’s okay to prioritize and completely cut people out.

It’s your life. Your terms.

Friends if you have people in your circle that don’t understand what your fighting for or what your dealing with in your life.

It’s okay. It’s not their responsibility to know or understand.

It is up to you if you want to share it.

It’s up to you if you want to include those that actually help you thrive and if they do.

Just be sure you keep your environment positive and encouraging for your path.

Because I know to well, it does not take much to break someone that is already feeling broken.

If you are someone that is reading this and dealing with an individual who might not be around much.

Show them love, show them grace, ask them what’s wrong.

Understand that if you know them, you’ll know they aren’t hiding for any reason other than a valid one.

Positivity in Five Simple Steps

In our day-to-day we all know that coming in contact with negativity is far too common. Even tho we are aware of the control, we still have to adjust our attitudes.

We slip and allow our days to begin with the complaint of being too tired.

You know when your alarm goes off and your laying in your most comfortable spot.

Warm and cozy with that favorite blanket you use.

You hit the snooze and roll over hoping it was all a dream.

I know just that feeling of tired and wanting to shut your eyes and forget about all the responsibilities to come for the day.

I get it.

Now, what we are simply forgetting is, the control we do have, to stop the negative thoughts in the beginning by mentally preparing ourselves the night before.

We can not all have dream jobs or be superstars. So the need to adjust and prepare the night prior is not strange at all.

Even though encouraging to train the brain to be excited for fresh starts is what we should be doing. Too look forward to what tomorrow can bring and what you can achieve.

I believe with every fiber in my body that you can do anything you set your mind to.

If being Positive is the one thing you are seeking to achieve, this is your sign and these are your steps.

If you truly and genuinely follow this method and not make a joke out of the simple things it takes. Well then, you are serious about being a more positive person for

whatever reason you are seeking it.

That is a great start!

We may not be able to control the ocean but we sure as heck can adjust the sails. Direct your own path with a firm belief in your journey to positivity.


HOW YOU CAN ACHIEVE POSITIVITY IN YOUR LIFE

AFFIRMATIONS

This is something I find to be the most important one. I placed it at the top specifically for that reason.

When you wake up, before you even start your day or brush your teeth. Wake up and be Grateful. Sit up and take a nice deep breath, smile and appreciate it.

Get out of bed, go to your bathroom mirror and look at your reflection. This is honestly one of the pieces to my personal day that can either boost it or lose it. (Multiple times thru the day are allowed)

What I mean by that is, looking at the mirror and telling yourself with full conviction that you are amazing and smart. Feed yourself affirmations to jump-start your attitude, your belief in your day or even sometimes, yourself.

Do not be too proud.

We can not always wake up on the right side of the bed. That is just being unrealistic if you think that is possible. I encourage you to carve this exercise into your morning routine as it can be a very powerful tool for real life.

READ/AUDIO BOOKS (AKA: BRAIN JUICE)

Yes, I am referring to the old hard copy text books or you can be hip and listen too Audios now! Technology is so cool.

Brain Juice is feeding the brain, Kale VS French fries. Feeding your brain the proper juice is key.

Reading books or listening to them can truly launch your success leaps and bounds if you do it right. It can possess powerful nuggets that can shift and alter your thought process and the actual way you think and learn.

Personal growth is what most people refer to when they talk about reading books.
But you can also be taken on a totally awesome journey thru a juicy non-fiction novel.
However or whatever you read and feed your brain is crucial due to the results of how your brain responds and sparks.

When you listen to a scary non-fiction story first thing in your day or even thru your day. Does it fire you up? Make you feel fueled with motivation and creativity?
Or, does it just simply please the ear and allow you to escape from perhaps your reality?
I try to always keep that in mind so, sharing it felt right.

As Theadore Roosevelt once said, “I am apart of everything that I have read.”

NUTRITION/EXERCISE

I know that this can be very diverse and honestly not everyone will choose to manage doing one or the other or even both.

The sad part is that we are given the free will to make the right choice to take care of and nurture our one body. One liver, one heart, two kidneys, one stomach and yet we still feed and treat our bodies as if they are garbage disposals.

We follow it with a complaint of gaining weight or feeling sleepy. Perhaps this is you or perhaps you are one of the small portions of percentage that prioritize your health and body.

Now when I talk about Nutrition I simple mean this; when you have a muffin or a banana as a choice to pair with your already high sugar and high calorie coffee, I would suggest the banana. Right? Wrong. However, today we choose the muffin. I get it, the muffin is much tastier and so much more satisfying.

But, I assure you that your energy later will feed off that banana a lot longer and better than the high carb muffin. These small choices make huge impact on us thru our days. If we feed our bodies what they truly deserve instead of what our mouths find desirable. I believe, human race could live a healthier and more positive life.

As far as talking about Exercise, I am simply saying go for a walk. It is proven that a simple 15 minutes a day can improve multiple things for you.
If you are the individual that enjoys the hardcore workouts where you are barely breathing and sweating like you just took a shower. Continue kicking butt and perhaps go and encourage those around you! For those of you that just need to take it slow and steady, invest in yoga. You will not regret it.

So remember, Kale or French fries?

INFLUENCE(S)

Now I am sure you have heard the quote stating, “You are the result of the five people you surround yourself with.” If you have not heard it, now you have.

See, it is incredibly easy to turn on the tv and find out some horrible news or perhaps a scary flick turns on. You could simply just be at a work doing your job and yet you are surrounded by the complaints of everyone around you.

If you have an office, be grateful.

However, it is also just as easy to choose the people you listen too.
I know that when you’re at work you may not be able to control everything you are hearing or picking up as you just walk by or sit at your cubicle perhaps.

But what we can do is filter what we allow in our brains. We can choose to hear the complaints or we can choose to point out solutions.

Is that a harder task? Yes. But being positive in your day will fuel you much longer and much stronger than as if you lead it with a negative mind.

Designing your environment can not always be an option in all situations. But, when you have your opportunities to create your environment, by choosing what and who is around you.

Just wait and see the results of how you feel and what you do, by surrounding yourself with it and them.

Choose to be around those that enlighten your positivity and knowledge to be better.

MUSIC

I honestly am not sure I can elaborate in words just how impactful music can be on you.

Music can be forgotten sometimes when you live a busy life. A life that doesn’t allow time to tune-in and vibe with good music.

Sometimes your head is so buried in work and personal life that you hardly have time to look up at the mirror and give those self talks we all need.

When you do have the time to give yourself those moments of encouragement be sure you are feeding yourself truth and empowerment.

But, if or when you can’t find the time or words, I assure you that music can.

When you think you do not have time to boost yourself up or perhaps, you really don’t and you stretch every single moment.

Either way, music is a soul feeder. Which is what I call it and consider it to be the deepest you can get from a source of sound.

The energy your feeling if you are excited because, your perhaps headed on a vacation. I bet by playing some super upbeat dance music sure would hype the vibe.
I bet if you were feeling down and sad, listening to a love song or something about loss might not be the best option if you’re looking to feel better.

Does this make sense?

So grab your ear buds, find a space you vibe and allow yourself to feel music that releases the positivity inside of you.

Figuring out the road map…

Do you remember the days when you would get up at hit the road with your pals? The endless road trips and memories created. But mostly, do you remember not having cell phones with GPS? When we had one person holding the giant paper map to navigate where the hell you were going. If you never did this its either because you never took a road trip needing a map or you were born once GPS was carried around in our hands at all times.UnitedStatesMap.jpg

I can remember when I took my first road trip to California from Washington state and I was nineteen years old. The details aren’t important outside of remembering to hold up a huge paper map and navigate. For someone who failed geography, I should not be in charge of navigation. But, we got there and I actually did a pretty good job! So anyways I thought perhaps I was not alone in the era of paper maps.

Sitting here the other day and wondering what I was doing. Not just with my moment but, with my writing and my podcast. Basically, what is my goal and how will I get there? I began to panic a bit because for someone that stays at home all day and brings in no income can easily feel like they are failing at life. When you see people just having a simple 9-5 job and idolizing the independence they can feel.

Even tho I know that raising my daughter is seriously an important responsibility and privilege. But, if you feel like I do I am sure that little explaining is needed. For those of you that can not relate, perhaps reading on you will be able to.

I have spent the last year writing and trying to learn this blogging world. I know that the never-ending blogging world is always shifting and changing. So much to learn and take in when you want to move forward with success. I mean I literally have nobody to actually sit here and teach me properly. Lots of people think they can teach but, it takes a specific character and amount of patience to teach someone. Basically, I am self-taught with everything and somedays I doubt my abilities. I doubt that I will ever be able to narrow down just what I will offer readers to create some type of career from writing. Will I write an e-book? Will I teach courses? Will I create templates or simply sell stock photos? I mean I suppose I could write for other people and make posts about topics to get short-term pay. But, let us be real if you are like me and you are trying to make something from nothing then I bet you are feeling what I am saying.

I might sort of be all over the place but, if you have never read anything of mine before I can sometimes have a squirrel type attention span.

So badly I feel this thing inside of me that wants to scream. I don’t know if that even makes sense but, its there and its real. The feeling is powerful and big. Sometimes I feel like my brain is so busy it is hard to organize my thoughts and then I get worried I won’t move forward because I am completely unorganized. Not on purpose but simply because I am doing my best and I really have no help figuring it all out. Which honestly is totally okay, its just a bit harder and might take me a little longer to figure it all out.

In all honesty, if I did things the traditional way it would probably be easier but, that is far from who I am.

Writing is absolutely where I belong. Podcasting is a place my personality can be heard and not just read. Between the two I really hope to reach all arrays of individuals and pray that I can inspire them or encourage. Perhaps when they listen they or you can feel not so alone by tuning in with myself and my co-host or simply by reading something I have written.

I mean, am I alone? Are you feeling anything that I feel? Do you wish when you sit at your desk that maybe you could just view the ocean or even better be at home in your pajamas loving on your littles with no stress about anything because, you just don’t need too anymore, for whatever reason?

I see so many moms in the world that pull together these incredible communities of people together. Creating a business along the way and that is what I intend to do. I have no idea how, I have no clue if I am even in the right vehicle to get there but, I won’t give up.
This feeling to be a part of something big, to create and feel like I am living my best life by including hundreds of thousands of people all around the world! I hope that my writing and podcasting is what does that for me because I feel it in every fiber of my being its where I belong. I know that with all of this can come other opportunities and that is also something I hope for.

Some days I just feel really lost only because I don’t have the answers and that makes me feel less in control of what the hell I am doing. Are you like that?

Feeling conflicted between the good and bad angel on my shoulders. One telling me to give up on what I am working towards and the other one telling me that I am magnificent and capable of all things.
Obviously, I am a badass and choose to push thru the garbage. But I mean I am only human. So are you, so don’t beat yourself up when you stumble because, failures are one thing I have learned that actually are the mold to holding the success together. What we learn NOT to do, is what helps us leap forward with what too do. Make sense?

Can you believe…


About six years ago I was fortunate enough to meet a few people that had a great impact and influence on my life. Sadly they are no longer in our lives but, not on bad terms. Just terms that business relationships grew apart. They are and will always be incredible people that made a difference in my life. Isn’t it neat how we can come in contact with individuals in life yet they will only serve a short-term purpose? I have always found it fascinating how destiny just happens.
Anyhow, during the time they were coaching us thru our business and giving us tools to grow personally as well as being a business owner.

Over the time frame of the first year, I was working with them, I had read 8 books. Eight! I hadn’t picked up a book and read the entire thing before that for years. Truth. Something inside me felt like I was doing it for a purpose. Which made me feel more inclined to read and learn what I was being directed to do.

Twenty-Seven years old, married for almost one year at this point and handed a book. A book I literally had never laid eyes on, been informed about nor had I ever heard of what they were talking about.

Gary Chapman an author which I will never forget because even tho I had read eight books prior to this one. This particular book I knew was going to be good for me. There are a few things that I personally struggle with giving. Probably with how I was raised or who I spent my time with. It could even simply be the information I was taught along my time growing up.

The Five Love Languages. This book is something I encourage every single person I meet to read. I believe that this book can later someone’s perspective on understanding how to love someone. If you have not read it, the link is above! I encourage you to do so, as soon as possible. You will not regret it.

llIn the book, they obviously talk about the 5 Love Languages and I do not want to spoil it for you. So this is what I want to do, I want to list out the five different languages that Gary lists here in his book.

  • Gifts
  • Quality Time
  • Words of Affirmation
  • Acts of Service
  • Physical Touch

Now, I only want to list the topics because I would love for you to first write down what you think these mean to you. What you think your love language is and what you think your spouse or partners are. Before you do anything else and go research stuff or read more. Do that first!

So, when I initially learned about this amazing way to love people and make them feel good. I was compelled to share it with anyone I could. If you were having any type of relationship issue, I would always suggest this book. Now I know it sounds weird and crazy to some people to have a “love tank.” But I assure you it is a real thing and when it is full it feels really good.

When I asked my family members and a lot of people I just generally associate with, they had no clue what I was talking about. Which I was not totally surprised since I had not very long ago either. So, I shared! I loaned my book or I would simply inform on where to go or what to look up. I truly believe in all my being that love languages are vital to a healthy and sustainable relationship.

If that be a best friend, a child, a pet or your husband and wife. Every living thing has a way it wants to be loved. A way that fills their heart and makes them feel loved. For example, I will use myself because that is the best testimony someone can have, right?

My whole life I basically grew up with no father figure. So for any type of healthy example to be given on how to love a man or a man to love a woman was not really exampled to me. My parents are great people so please don’t misunderstand. But, how could I possibly learn to compliment a man and know that they need affirmations just like women might if I was never shown the example?

Long story short, when I met my husband he is a man of affirmations. I had no idea how to give that to a man nor did I even know what Love languages were then. My Language is Acts of Service. So when someone does not know how to give the proper love to the other person, they tend to give the love they seek. (RE READ THAT last sentence) Which in the end is pretty disserving if the receiver is affirmations. Make sense? You will get tired of putting energy into a bucket with a hole. Trust me.

I mean it is nice for me to do things for my husband but, he would rather me compliment him on how proud I am of him. Instead of wash his car. Ha! When in my world, I want my car washed! HAHA! Who knew this stuff was real?! But it is. You should really give attention because I am telling you the reward is worth the effort. I think a great addition for ANY bookshelf. They also have a Children’s Love language book that I also Highly encourage you to take a peek at if you have children.
